Real Madrid teammates Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham are teaming up on the cover of EA SPORTS FC 27’s Ultimate Plus Edition, and EA finally gave fans a real look at what’s coming when the game drops worldwide on September 25.
Mbappé’s already been confirmed as the face of the Standard and Ultimate editions this week, so seeing him share the Ultimate Plus cover with Bellingham feels like a natural next step. Bellingham, for his part, is making his third appearance on an FC cover, and both players talked up how much the partnership means to them heading into a new season.
So what’s actually new in FC 27? The headline feature is “The Grounds,” a social football playground that expands the Clubs mode with everything from casual pickup kickabouts to serious competitive play. You’ll progress and customize your player with help from mentors like Mbappé himself, along with Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala, and Alex Hunter. Heads up though—this mode is limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Career mode is getting a major overhaul too, with a rebuilt Transfer Market powered by TransferRoom. Player valuations now factor in club buying power, potential, ratings, and form, and there’s a whole new layer of negotiation tactics and bidding wars to navigate as rival clubs get smarter about recruiting.
Ultimate Team fans get a new FUT Gallery, where you can curate your dream club and grade full sets of past and present player items to level up your Gallery and unlock rewards.
On the gameplay side, EA says community feedback shaped a bunch of tweaks across every mode, including more dynamic corners, sharper attacking awareness, and rebalanced AI defending.
As for editions and pricing, EA SPORTS FC 27 is now available for pre-order. The Ultimate Plus Edition is a limited-time offer running only through August 31st, and it stacks quite a bit of value:
