Overwatch is gearing up for Season 4, and it’s bringing a new Tank hero, a reworked Battle Pass, and a big refresh to two fan-favorite maps.
The headline addition is D.Mon, the newest playable member of the MEKA Squad. Longtime fans already know pilot Yuna Lee from the game’s lore, but now you can actually step into her mech, Beast, and take her into battle yourself. D.Mon comes armed with a Plasma Saber for close-range slicing, a Power Barrier to protect teammates, Propulsors for mobility, and a Fusion Repeater for when you need to keep enemies at range. Her Limit Break Ultimate is designed to help push your whole team forward at the right moment.
Alongside D.Mon’s launch, Blizzard is running a three-week event called Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania from August 11–31. It’s essentially a popularity contest for the MEKA Squad—players pick a pilot pass, complete challenges, and vote for their favorite squad member to climb the global rankings. Finish enough passes and you’ll unlock a Prestige track with extra rewards for the most dedicated fans.
The Battle Pass itself is getting its biggest overhaul yet. Instead of unlocking Legendary skins in a fixed order, you’ll now choose which one to chase first after finishing an intro track. Premium Battle Pass owners also get a Tier Hack, letting you swap one eligible Legendary reward for another cosmetic from the seasonal Swap Pool—this season’s pool includes returning skins like Raijin Ashe, Mob Boss Junker Queen, Cardboard Reinhardt, Sakura Lifeweaver, and Crustacean Wrecking Ball. Later in the season, Unvaulted Passes will also let players catch up on rewards from select past Battle Passes.
Map-wise, Busan is getting visibly scarred by the Junker and Talon attacks from the story, with damaged streets, burning wreckage, and fresh MEKA repairs scattered around—plus you can actually walk into D.Mon’s room to check out her personal space. ParaÃso is also getting reworked with new party decorations, an upgraded Clube Sinestesia (complete with a DJ booth and a Lúcio-exclusive surprise), and new routes around key chokepoints. Eichenwalde picks up new traversal options too, including a piano shop that gives attackers a height advantage at the first chokepoint.
A few other things landing this season:
- Team Drives (September 4–6): A three-day Competitive event where winning teams stay grouped for their next match, helping you climb Gladiator Ranks faster with a squad that’s clicking.
- World Cup Cheer Rally (September 1–14): Support your region—AMER, EMEA, or ASIA—by earning Cheer through challenges or watching Overwatch World Cup broadcasts, unlocking Battle Pass XP, loot boxes, and regional hero skins along the way.
- In Combat Feedback: New UI additions including a Team Status Indicator, a Tank-specific “Protect” stat for damage mitigation, multi-kill icons, clearer healing indicators, and damage contribution tracking in the Activity Feed.
Two new Mythic skins are also joining the mix: Koi of Duality Genji, a four-level customizable skin built around balance and duality themes, and Eternal Crystal Sojourn, a weapon skin that reacts visually to your eliminations and adds new flourish animations.
Rounding things out, two Shop Collections run August 11–30: Young Gods, reimagining heroes as mythological deities (Izanami Kiriko, Sekhmet Jetpack Cat, Nezha Wuyang, Artemis Freja, and Shango Doomfist), and Fleece and Fangs, split between elegant “Fleece” skins (Juno, Mei, Hanzo) and fierce “Fangs” skins (Reaper, Vendetta, Mercy).
